"First of all, I just wanted to share with you that I have been so pleased with Shamari's progress this year. I have seen such improvement in her reading, and progress in school. On her report card this marking period Shamari received an "A" in math, an "A" in language arts, a "B" in science, and a "B" in social studies. For first the first time Shamari made the "Honor Roll!" Shamari used to get at least one "D" each marking period. Her self confidence has greatly improved. The other day after dinner Shamari went to her room and brought out a handout she received in science class. She expressed excitement with how much easier it was for her to read, and she proceeded to read with fluency in front of us. In the past Shamari would have not volunteered to read out loud without much encouragement. In addition, she is one of two students who have been recommended for a summer math program because she has don e so well in Algebraic Thinking this year that this program is going to get her ready for Algebra I next year."

Since last summer, Lois has been an asset that cannot be quantified. She reminded me a lot of my late mother by having a unique way of understanding how Mark Jr. ticks and then being able to coordinate her tutoring sessions to Mark's best benefit. I have run out of patience with him at times, but Lois never did.
